For some members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints cosmological doctrines and discussions are cringe-worthy. Mention the word Kolob and you can expect a doctrinal spanking. It’s puzzling. The Lord hasn’t told us to avoid these subjects. He said, "any man who hath seen any or the least of these hath seen God moving in his majesty and power."
I believe all scripture is edifying, and the most beautiful and mind-stretching revelations are undoubtedly about the cosmos. Through this heavenly subject, we can see that the gospel and the plan of salvation are not merely earthbound. They are universally applicable or, rather, applicable throughout all of God’s great universe.
My purpose in this blog is to show how enlightening these revelations can be. I also hope to illustrate how science is slowly catching up and actually confirming what the Lord has revealed to us through the prophet Joseph Smith.
