Dark Matter and Spirit By Brandt Neider

7 There is no such thing as immaterial matter. All spirit is matter, but it is more fine or pure, and can only be discerned by purer eyes;
8 We cannot see it; but when our bodies are purified we shall see that it is all matter. Doctrine and Covenants 131:7-8

In general, the scientific community turns its nose up at the idea of a spiritual existence. Spirits, ghosts, or intelligent life in any form other than something resembling what we’ve already observed is the wishful thinking of the ignorant.
Renowned physicist Brian Cox recently went as far as saying that the Large Hadron Collider disproved the existence of the supernatural due to its ability to pick up even the tiniest burst of energy and no ghosts have been found.

However, for over 100 years scientists have been telling us that the universe is filled with transparent matter that we can’t see. We only know it’s there because we can detect its gravity. This invisible substance passes through ordinary matter as if it wasn’t even there and the universe has 6 times more of this stuff than the regular matter we are able to see and touch. This invisible material formed first and was followed by physical matter and physical matter took shape based on the structure and framework outlined by this transparent substance. If this stuff we now call dark matter happens to interact with itself as physical matter does, and evidence suggests that this is the case, then everything we see in our universe could have its dark matter counterpart, including people.

Of course, science will never make this association but put the religious world's understanding of spirit next to the scientific world's explanation of dark matter and it becomes very difficult to tell which is which.
